The Heart of Health
It’s National Heart Month! Being healthy is something to celebrate. There are many things we can do to support our heart such as proper exercise, quality nutrition and restorative sleep. Your overall health scores are a percentage of lifestyle practices and genetic conditions. Beyond the math, there are other factors to observe if a wellness program is going to be a lifelong habit. On average, 80% of those who begin a health and fitness program stop after 3 months, and many quit within the first 6 weeks. Real health and wellness is a lifestyle practice that must be integrated to fully enjoy the benefits. There are also some very important factors that are often overlooked when addressing complete wellness. Very simply, it is the combination of Body, Mind and Spirit. All three of these make up the whole package of you!
At Body Now!, our approach is unique in regards to how we view total health. Our focus is to activate human potential through the practice of “Integrative Health and Fitness”. Here are three awareness challenges that can be used daily to harness the power of your potential to improve overall health and design a more positive life experience.
- Begin with claiming your BODY- All of it— Now!
- Self-acceptance starts in our MIND – NOW is the moment to develop healthy habits and attitudes of appreciation.
- Cultivate a personal relationship with your SPIRIT – Through discovery of personal talents, strengths and recognizing your potential to fully embrace life.
Awareness of our deepest feelings is a step in the right direction to a heart of health. These feelings come from the core of our being, connecting us to ourselves and others. Real love begins with ourselves. There is great value in taking time for one’s self to observe what messages your heart is sending you. Making this time a priority can help you focus greater clarity to your heart connection.
If your “Love Generator” is running low, there are adjustments you can do to keep it humming along at a much higher frequency. The really cool thing about “Real Love Energy ” is that it’s already in you.
There There is a deep love hunger in this world — and also many substitutes. Individually and socially, many of the epidemics in our culture are not only heart disease, but also what I call — a broken heart. With few exceptions, we do not hear physicians recommending the power of love and the potential for real transformation. If a drug had the same impact as real love, I’m sure every doctor would be prescribing it. To access real love begins with ourselves. Many rely on formulas outside of themselves and depend on programs to bring them health and happiness. Awareness is a daily journey, and paying attention to the signals your heart is sending you is essential to be aware of what your real needs are.
When we increase love and intimacy in our lives, we also increase health, joy and discovery of our life’s purpose. All living things, including plant life, thrive in environments where nurturing is established.
Love is the root that leads us to health and healing. Once we understand how important our connection to love is, then we can do something about it. You can develop valuable insight to increase awareness of how much these choices matter that we make each day. These also include:
• Sharing positive time with friends and family
• Healthy honest communication with the freedom to express yourself
• Forgiveness and compassion, for ourselves and others
• Joyful and unconditional service, from the heart
• Healthy contact–Physical and Emotional Respect
• Forthright commitment that develops trust
When we are in need of healing, know that wellness is a process that does not happen overnight. Be willing to explore any self-defeating thoughts that could be holding you back from building a healthier life. Often, stepping away from the familiarity of an established comfort zone gives one a new perspective to find our “Stronger Self” and give one the ability to make lasting positive changes.
Trust the truth your heart reveals. Practice fluent listening with your whole being to develop compassionate understanding and enjoy the peace that comes with wisdom from your life’s experiences.
Know you have the ability to be centered in the beauty of your open heart to hear the gifts it brings. Our “life” force or what some call “spirit” is generated by ”Love Power” Here is the most wonderful news—You were born with it! Love Yes You! A beautiful reminder ”Love” is not an emotion.
